Rob Holub is a 32 year old singer & songwriter. He lives in Zürich, Kanton Zurich, Switzerland.
DS: How did you hear about Dailysingle? What are you expecting from being on the front page?
Rob Holub: I actually met the guy who founded Dailysingle in New York City about a year ago. I like the concept of it. It's interesting to read about all these people following their dreams.
DS: What are the most memorable years of your life and what happened to make them so memorable?
Rob Holub: I've lived in New York City from 2007 to 2010 and that was definitely my most exciting period of my life so far. I think I've become much wiser and somehow more focused with that experience. The NYC jungle showed me what I really appreciate in life.
I've released so far an EP and a single and can't wait for my debut-album which I expect to produce and release next year.
DS: How would you best describe yourself?
Rob Holub: I am actually a very simple man, who appreciates the simple things in life. At the same I have a restless inner drive that pushes me to do things that are "big", like living in New York City or pursuing my dream and passion. Music.
DS: What are the must-haves in your daily wardrobe?
Rob Holub: Underwear...the rest really depends on the weather. But let me say that I like wearing jeans and a unicolored v-neck shirt. As I said before...I am a simple man;)
DS: Who do people tell you you look like?
Rob Holub: A girl once said to me I look similar to actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers. What a compliment! But unfortunately I haven't heard anybody say that in a long time...haha.

DS: How did you end-up being a singer & songwriter?
Rob Holub: I started to play the piano when I was six years old and recorded my first song at the age of 16. I kept playing my piano and started to write songs...In the beginning with every heartbreak one...with the time I wrote at least 10 songs per heartbreak! It ads up. In 2007 I made a big decision and moved to NYC to be in the world hub of music. It was a wise move...I've learnt a lot, played a lot of gigs and made great connections. That gave me a real push as a singer / songwriter.
DS: Can you tell us more about your job?
Rob Holub: The music is inside of me...no matter what choice I make. Whether I want to pursue it as a professional career or not. I will have to do it. So in other words I don't have a choice and pursue my passion. The music industry is a tough business and it takes time to build a base and then take the next steps. There are so many singer / songwriters out there who struggle for attention...but hey, there are also many engineers, designers, painters and so on. I do what I love to do and if it hits off one day then I take it a as a bonus. I've released so far an EP and a single and can't wait for my debut-album which I expect to produce and release next year.

Rob Holub: I am never sure when I have free time but if I don't write songs or sing, then I am a very social and active person. I travel quite a lot especially since my move back to Switzerland, I keep going back to NYC to play shows and see friends. It's my second home now!

Rob Holub: The "Virtual Playground" as I call it... Basically our lives with live on the internet. To me it's a topic that makes me think about where we come from and who we really are. There's still this thing called "nature" and I hope that people get to appreciate it more again one day.
