Marial Maher is a 24 year old artist, musician, photographer and producer. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, United States.
DS: How did you hear about Dailysingle? What are you expecting from being on the front page?
Marial Maher: I knew about Dailysingle because many of my talented friends have been featured. I have been waiting to be next! The only thing I expect from being on the front page is that people will have a better understanding of who I am - and what I do, including Seasick Mama.
DS: What are the most memorable years of your life and what happened to make them so memorable?
Marial Maher: Between the ages of fifteen and... twenty-one, I don't remember very much, which is a shame. I was having such a good time growing up, traveling, and laughing - it seemed to just fly past! But the most memorable part of my life - thus far - was 2009! That is when I moved to New York City and figured "it" all out. I can be & do anything I want in this city, and their is no one that can tell me otherwise.
DS: Where were you born and where do you live now?
Marial Maher: I was born in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. I grew up riding horses and my best friend was my little brother.
I now live in Brooklyn, New York with my fiancee Casey RAnderson. We dream of buying my parents farm - not only because it holds all of my childhood memories, but because its a home that holds a warmth and love we haven't been able to find anywhere else.
In my free time I play music. I have turned my living room into a full on rock show
DS: How would you best describe yourself?
Marial Maher: I would describe myself as very independent - but sometime consider independence another word for loner. I find excitement and pleasure out of creativity and production, other than happy hours and sociability. I am an extremely hard worker for myself - but also for my peers. I am sensitive and find comfort in romance.
DS: What are the must-haves in your daily wardrobe?
Marial Maher: The must-haves in my daily wardrobe is typically all black. Leggings, XL tops, and Jeffery Campbell platforms. I have been trying to encourage myself to wear more color - but it makes me feel dirty. I have made my way into wearing grey and navy blue, but even that is a struggle. Ha!
DS: Who do people tell you you look like?
Marial Maher: I have been told that I look most like Alexa Chung. I take it as a complement! I want her wardrobe and possibly her career.
DS: What is the compliment you most frequently get?
Marial Maher: "Marial! You are so talented...What do you do again?"
"Marial! I love your voice...Can we start an all girl band?"
"Marial! I want your t-shirts...for free!"

DS: How did you end-up being a creative entrepreneur?
Marial Maher: I was born with a creative mind. I recently found some old poetry I wrote when I was about five. The title was, "Hyper Girl and Orange Juice". I am tempted to re-write it into a pop song.
This question is always the hardest for me, What do you want to be when you grow up?
To tell you the truth, if you asked me 10 years from now - I still won't know. I think the best thing about having a creative mind - is that it's always changing and evolving and falling in love with different mediums.
With music, my biggest role model is my father. He taught me guitar - and pushed me to start performing and singing. God bless his tainted little soul. I have figured out recently that music is a good outlet for me. It extremely therapeutic.
Photography, it's just something that I appreciate. I love the challenge of finding new ways to look at your environment, people, and sexuality! I totally enjoy taking photos of naked woman. It's exhilarating making them look their best.
DS: Can you tell us more about your job?
Marial Maher: My job is at Pirate New York - an audio production house in Union Square. We focus on emotionally connecting consumers to brands, amongst other things. I have many roles here - but mainly social media, design, and other creative tasks. I love the working environment at Pirate New York because I am surrounded by talented musicians and people that are willing to push me along. Mark Turrigiano, an engineer at PNY produced my newest song, Going Out West! Working here is an ideal job for me. I can apply skills with design and photography - but also get inspired and practice music in the space.
My other job is Seasick Mama, which focuses on apparel as an ideal canvas for promoting artists work in a contemporary, uncompromising and accessible way. Seasick Mama is also a lifestyle blog focusing on fashion, art, and music. It's turning into a community! I started Seasick Mama in 2008 and it has come a far way. I look forward to producing a memorable spring collection.

DS: Let's talk more about you and your tastes. Any hobbies? What do you like to do in your free time? Any thing you like and recommend?
Marial Maher: In my free time I play music. I have turned my living room into a full on rock show. My dad set me up with some equipment - so it is all downhill from there.
I also like to go to bed early on Friday, so I can get up early and have LONG Saturdays off! Eating breakfast at Moto in Brooklyn is my favorite. They always have live local jazz, folk, or hillbilly music playing. Getting day drunk is always a plus, because spending my paycheck thrifting isn't so painful. Also, Monday Movie nights a Huckleberry Bar are super fun! Big screen TV and great treats. Also, every weekend I try to take portraits of friends and willing strangers. Anytime I can shoot photographs is when I feel the most creative.
Also, I always try to find live shows to go see. My favorite band right now is MINKS because Amalie Bruun is the newest member. She's sexy.
Lastly, its spending time with Casey. He is my rock.
DS: What is a typical week for Marial Maher?
Marial Maher: My typical week is spent at my job Pirate from 8:30 - 4:30. I like getting up early. It makes you feel alive and healthy - and appreciate a different routine. My sister got me this amazing toaster that also cooks eggs. That's nice to wake up too.
After work I go to the gym. I think its important to take care of your body and look sexy. Confidence gets people really far in this life.
After the gym - I typically go home and try to do some kind of art project. Recently, I took portraits of my new Persian cat. They are hysterically cute!
I also, really LOVE to cook. Anything healthy and delicious. I just made a kale pesto that was a garlic overload, but tasty on toast and mixed in salad.
I save the partying for the weekend. It gives me something to look forward too - and makes the whole PARTY experience more exciting! I will call friends and say, "Let's get dressed up and go out!!!" and they are never as thrilled as me because they do it every night.
